Job Description: Optical Assistant. Full-time permanent. 37.5 hours per week – Dorset

£16,000 – £18,000 dependent on level of experience

This is a fantastic and rare opportunity to join our successful, long established practice at the forefront of optometry; delivering a whole host of specialist clinical services. We are lucky enough to have some of the most up-to-date equipment and one of the largest selections of designer eyewear on the south coast.

Due to planned growth, we are now looking for a full-time optical assistant with an exciting, varied job role. You will be assisting with booking appointments, pre-screening – including visual field screening & focimetry, spectacle sales, spectacle adjustments, repairs and maintaining the appearance of the practice. You will be taught how to carryout basic clinical procedures, such as teaching clients how to manage their own ocular hygiene and insert and remove contact lenses. For the right candidate we are also prepared to offer the opportunity and training to become a qualified, registered Dispensing Optician.

You will be working with some of the best Optometrists on the south coast, 2 highly knowledgeable Dispensing Opticians, another superstar Optical Assistant and our fantastic receptionist. We all take pride in delivering the very best clinical care and customer experience to our clients who have varying needs and requirements. You will have an interest in looking after each client on an individual basis and enjoy engaging with them to determine the best solutions for their personalised needs.

Previous experience is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.

The ideal candidate will be a hard-working individual and have an excellent work ethic. They must have good communication skills, a high level of attention to detail, be well organised with good time keeping.
